To make it easier, this page gives you some idea of what to expect. There are also pictures of the inside of the church and some activities here. If you are still nervous after reading this, why not e-mail us(we can arrange for someone to come with you for your first visit) or contact our church, as set out below.
There is limited parking on the church premises. Alternatively you can park
on the street in the vicinity. There are no parking restrictions on the surrounding streets, other than, of course, common courtesy. If you are coming to
a church service, information about the times and type of services can be
found here.
When you have parked, you will see the church doors at the front of the building.
When you come into the building, someone will greet you at the door and usually offer you a copy of the weekly notices. |
If you have
children with you they can of course sit with you. Part way through the morning service the normal practice is for the
children to go out to their own classes or, in the case of little ones, to the creche - see photos of our creche room. However, if you prefer to
keep your children with you or they would rather not go,
no-one will force them to go out. |

The words for the songs we sing are provided via a modern overhead projector. If you are not sure
what to do, just follow everyone else or, if you prefer, you can
just remain seated throughout the service. You are under no
obligation to join in any of the singing or even to like the music.
We know we don't all have the same musical tastes and we don't
expect you to either. The normal basic format for the MORNING service, which is
usually led by our music group, is: The evening format is similar, except there is no children's talk nor, normally, children's facilities. Twice a month
we celebrate "communion" during a service, normally about half way through. This involves eating a small piece of bread and drinking a little glass of red grape juice. This is done by Christian believers
in memory of the death and resurrection of Jesus. However, just let this pass by you without any embarrassment. You will probably not be the only one to do so. You are not expected
to contribute to the work of the church (that's our responsibility)
so don't feel embarrassed to pass the collection bag on without
putting anything in it. Many church members contribute directly
through their bank accounts so you won't be the only one just
passing the bag on. Should you need to visit
the loo, the toilets can be found through the same door on the left of the platform
and you will see them on your left in the corridor. There is also a disabled toilet. For meetings
other than church services we normally use our meeting rooms via the side entrance to the buildings.
Standing in front of the building facing the church doors, bear left, following the path to the side door.
